Configuring Up/Down Operation on LS Electric Drives (IS7 and H100+ Models)
Part 1: Setting Up Up/Down Operation on IS7 Drive
Terminal Configuration
- Assign Terminals: Assign two terminals for up/down operation on the IS7 drive. Configure them to “17 (Up)” and “18 (Down)” for acceleration and deceleration, respectively. For instance, set IN (P5)68 and 69(P6) to these terminals.
Command Input Operation
- Activation: Initiate acceleration by applying a command input to the Up-terminal (17). Acceleration stops and constant speed operation begins when the signal is off.
Advanced Settings for Up/Down Operation
ADV 85 – Up/Down Mode Selection (U/D Mode Sel):
- 0: U/D Normal: Standard operation with frequency adjustment based on the input signal.
- 1: U/D Step: Frequency changes in steps with each input signal.
- 2: U/D Step+Norm: Starts in step mode and switches to normal mode upon reaching a set condition.
ADV 86 – Up/Down Step Frequency (U/D Step Freq):
- Define the frequency increment or decrement in step mode, such as 2 Hz.
Ramp-Up to Specific Frequency
- U/D Save Feature: Enable the U/D Save by setting In 70(P7) to code “19”. After adjusting to the desired start speed, activate P7 once to save this setting for use at the next start-up.
Part 2: Configuring Up/Down Operation on H100 Drive
Terminal Assignment
- Select Multifunction Terminals: Choose two terminals for the up/down operation.
- Designate Terminals: Assign terminals to “19 (Up)” for increasing frequency and “20 (Down)” for decreasing frequency.
Operation Command Input
- Operation Initiation: Acceleration begins when the Up terminal (19) is active and transitions to constant speed once deactivated. Activation of the Down terminal (20) initiates deceleration.
ADV Settings for Frequency Control
- ADV 65 – Up/Down Operation Frequency Save Mode: This setting allows the drive to save the operating frequency during constant speed operation and resume operation at this frequency after power restoration or a fault trip.
IN 65–71 Px Terminal Configuration
- Configuration: Set the multifunction terminals according to Px Define (P1 to P7) for desired operation frequency.
Advanced Up/Down Operation
- U/D Save Mode (ADV-65): Enable by setting a multifunction terminal to “22 (U/D Clear)”, which saves the operating frequency.
Saving and Clearing Frequencies
- Save Frequency: During constant speed, activate P6 (Up) or P7 (Down) to save the frequency.
- Clear Frequency: To clear, set a multifunction terminal to “22 (U/D Clear)” and activate it.
