Description
LS Electric – XP10BKA/DC & XP10BKB/DC (XP10 series; minimal XGT Panel HMIs)
- XP10BKA/DC — XGT Panel XP10 series, DC-powered operator interface.
- XP10BKB/DC — Same as above with latch-area key option (variant).
Compact 4.1″ mono graphic operator interface (192 × 64 dots) with membrane keypad; designed for simple text/status displays, parameter entry and basic device monitoring. Both run the XP10 firmware family and link via RS-232C / RS-422/485.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
These are small, rugged, economical HMIs for machines that don’t need color screens or touch — excellent for status panels, simple operator feedback and loader/boot tasks. They won’t replace a full touchscreen HMI, so don’t try. Pick XP10BKB if you need the keyed latch-area feature; otherwise XP10BKA keeps things minimal and cheap.
Pros
- Extremely compact and low-power — easy to drop into tight panels.
- Simple, proven communications: RS-232C and RS-422/485 for direct PLC or inverter links.
- Low system complexity and small memory footprint (256 KB flash) — quick to configure and reliable.
Limitations
- Monochrome 192×64 display means no fancy graphics, trends, or multi-pane dashboards.
- Limited user input (12 membrane keys); not ideal for heavy data entry.
Typical use cases
- Machine front panels that only need text/status and basic operator controls.
- Boot/load screens, single-function machine controllers, inverter/drive front-end.
- Retrofitting legacy systems where a tiny, rugged UI is all that’s justified.
