XGF-DC8A

Description

8-channel current (mA) analog output module, configurable for 4–20 mA or 0–20 mA loops. High resolution D/A with per-channel range selection and standard XGF wiring/terminal interface.

The DC8A provides eight current outputs in the XGF/XGT modular family. It supports multiple output ranges selectable per channel, high resolution (digital resolution up to 1/16000 cited for the family), fast conversion (≈250 μs/channel specified for the series), and the expected wiring and load-resistance tables in the module manual. Use DC8A where multiple 4–20 mA actuators or valve positioners need to be driven directly from the PLC slot.

Pros

• High channel density (8 current outputs).
• High resolution and good accuracy (family spec ±0.2% typical at 25°C).
• Fast per-channel conversion for typical process control speeds.

Limitations

• Must observe max loop resistance vs supply to reach full current; see datasheet load table.
• Not intended to drive high-power devices directly; use positioners/contactors for heavy loads.
