Description

4-channel isolated analog input module (voltage/current), per-channel isolation and 16-bit class conversion for improved signal integrity. Suitable where channel isolation and mid-range resolution are required.

The Polar Energy Assessment:

The AD4S accepts voltage or current inputs (selectable ranges), provides channel-to-channel isolation, and outputs signed 16-bit values to the PLC. The module manual describes supported ranges (examples: DC 1–5 V, 0–5 V, 0–10 V, −10–10 V, 4–20 mA), per-channel filtering and recommended wiring to preserve accuracy. Use AD4S when you need isolated analog inputs for noisy environments or mixed-signal cabinets.

Pros

• Per-channel isolation reduces cross-talk and improves reliability in noisy installations.

Limitations

• Higher internal consumption and larger terminal/connector count per channel vs non-isolated modules.
• Per-channel conversion time (refresh) is relatively slow compared with high-speed special modules; verify timing for your control loop.
