Description
XEC-DR64H/D1: H-class main unit with higher native relay output density (commonly 32 inputs / 32 relay outputs variants exist), for applications needing more galvanically-isolated outputs while keeping H-class performance. Check suffix (D1) for regional relay/load ratings.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
The DR64H (and DR64H/D1 variants) provide larger on-board relay counts for machines that require many isolated outputs. They retain the H-class processing speed, support XGB expansion, and include the platform’s networking and high-speed I/O capabilities. Make sure to verify relay contact current ratings, common wiring scheme, and mechanical life in the regional datasheet before committing to heavy switching loads.
Pros
- High relay output density for AC/DC switching with galvanic isolation.
- H-class performance and full expansion compatibility.
Limitations
- Mechanical relay life and contact current limits constrain direct drive of high-power loads.
- Larger CPU modules consume more panel space and may affect expansion slot planning.
Typical use cases
- Machines and panels controlling many isolated outputs (heaters, lamps, valve coils) where transistor outputs aren’t acceptable.
