Description
32-point sinking transistor DC output module, high channel density for IO-heavy panels, retaining the XGB family’s DC output characteristics. Intended to minimize module count in I/O dense systems.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
The TN32A consolidates up to 32 sinking transistor outputs into a single expansion module, following the same voltage range, protection, and switching specs as the TN08A/TN16A series. It requires the correct terminal block and cabling for installation, draws higher internal current when many points are ON, and is ideal where consolidating modules reduces wiring complexity and saves expansion slots. Double-check aggregate current and inrush specs in the datasheet during BOM planning.
Pros
- Very high channel density, fewer modules and less backplane complexity.
- Fast switching, long life, and standard protections make it reliable for moderate DC switching tasks.
Limitations
- Higher internal current draw with many outputs ON; plan supply capacity and heat dissipation.
- Sink-only; verify field device polarity compatibility.
Typical use cases
- Large panels with many indicator lamps, digital outputs to remote I/O, or dense OEM machine controllers.
