Description
SU-class compact CPU, 18 DI + 12 relay outputs, SU performance with PID, HSC, positioning and expanded I/O capacity compared with E-class.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
DR30SU brings SU-tier processing and memory (~15k steps, ≈94 ns/step) to the 18/12 relay local I/O form factor. Compared with DR30E you get far better HSC and PID performance, more expansion stages (commonly up to 7), and richer comms; this makes DR30SU ideal where you need relay isolation plus meaningful control capability in a compact package. Confirm I/O polarity, relay ratings and expansion needs when placing an order.
Pros
- SU performance with relay outputs gives the best of both worlds for many plant panels.
- Strong expansion allowance and advanced features like PID and HSC.
Limitations
- More expensive than E-class; if you only need minimal logic the extra capability is wasted.
- Relay outputs have finite mechanical life; consider transistor alternatives for very high cycle counts.
Typical use cases
- Mid-size AHU/chiller panels that need relay outputs but also require PID and fast counters, OEM machines with many pilot circuits plus moderate control complexity, and consolidated panels that prefer a single compact SU unit.
