Description
Economic E-class compact CPU, 18 digital inputs + 12 relay outputs, low-cost relay-output controller for small panels.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
DR30E is an E-type (economic) XBC CPU that balances low price with a useful I/O set, typically 18 DI and 12 relay DO. E-class units have small program memory (~4k steps), slower execution (~240 ns/step), basic high-speed counter functionality and limited expansion (commonly up to 2 expansions); they are perfect for tiny machines and pilot panels that need isolated relay outputs but not heavyweight features. Confirm the power variant and per-contact relay rating before deployment.
Pros
- Very low cost, relay outputs for isolated AC switching without extra relays.
- Simple to commission with familiar LS tools.
Limitations
- Small program memory and limited performance, not suitable for large PID or heavy HSC demands.
- Limited expansion compared with SU/H families.
Typical use cases
- Small pilot panels, basic OEM machines, alarm or annunciator panels needing relay outputs, and brownfield retrofits where cost is the primary driver.
