Description
E-class (economic) compact CPU in the 30-point neighbourhood (typical ≈18 DI / 12 DO), low cost and simple feature set for basic machines.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
DP30E is an entry-level XBC/XEC E-type main unit: compact, inexpensive, and engineered for trivial to small automation tasks. E-class units have limited program memory (~4 Ksteps) and slower cycle times (≈240 ns/step), but they still provide essential functions like a programming port, pulse catch and basic HSC support. Choose DP30E when price and footprint matter more than PID, heavy HSC or large program space.
Pros
- Low-cost option for small controllers; footprint is really small.
- Simple to commission with standard LS tooling.
Limitations
- Limited program memory and slower execution; not suited for heavy HSC/PID workloads.
- Minimal expansion compared to SU/H types.
Typical use cases
- Basic conveyors, feeder stations, pilot panels, and small OEM machines where ~30 points and a basic ladder program are enough.
