Description
Economic compact CPU: 12 DI + 8 DO (transistor), a practical small controller with 4 Kstep program memory and 240 ns/step class speed.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
DN20E is the larger member of the E-type compact CPUs offering 12 digital inputs and 8 transistor outputs. It keeps the economic footprint: limited program space (≈4 Ksteps) and modest cycle speed but provides enough I/O for many small automation tasks. The E family is intentionally barebones; ideal when budget and enclosure real estate matter more than high throughput or advanced motion features.
Pros
- Best economic balance for small machines that need ~20 local points.
- E family is easy to spec and cheap to replace.
Limitations
- Still E-class limitations: low program memory and slower cycle than U/H units.
Typical use cases
- Local AHU zone controllers with limited I/O, simple packaging modules, and machines where a 12/8 I/O split matches the machine I/O plan.
