Description
GM7U-format transistor module: 24 DC inputs and 16 PNP (source) transistor outputs, 24 VDC logic — sourcing outputs for source-based field wiring.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
The G7M-DT40U (P) provides the same high channel density as the N-version but with PNP (sourcing) outputs for installations where field devices expect sourcing outputs. It’s packaged for GM7U racks and suits OEM and brownfield panels that require many solid-state sourcing outputs while preserving the U-series form factor for spare compatibility.
Pros
- PNP outputs avoid wiring changes where sourcing topology is standard.
- High-density, solid-state reliability for high-cycle duties.
- U-series packaging for consistent spare handling.
Limitations
- Must match PNP wiring to field devices; wrong polarity requires rework.
- Not intended for AC switching without relays.
Typical use cases
- OEM panels and brownfield GM7U retrofits where actuators expect sourcing outputs, conveyor/pulse systems, and machine control with frequent switching.
