Description
High-density mixed I/O module for the GM7U family: 36 DC inputs + 4 transistor outputs + 20 relay outputs (U-series form, 24 VDC logic variant). It’s the “cram everything into one slot” option for large discrete panels.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
The G7M-DRT60U (/DC) combines large input capacity with a small set of fast transistor outputs and a heap of isolated relay outputs for AC pilot loads. It’s built for GM7U backplanes where rack space is at a premium but the system still needs a mixture of solid-state switching and isolated relays. Use this when you want to reduce slot count while keeping both fast (transistor) and isolated (relay) outputs in the same module family. Specs and family listings are documented in the GM7/GM7U product literature.
Pros
- Massive point density: reduces slot usage and backplane wiring.
- Mix of transistor + relay outputs covers fast switching and isolated AC loads.
- Packaged for GM7U compatibility; easier spare-management on U-series racks.
Limitations
- Mechanical relays have finite life; heavy switching duty needs solid-state alternatives or snubbers.
- Terminal crowding; plan wiring, strain relief and labeling.
Typical use cases
Large AHU control racks, pump-station alarm + pilot banks, OEM panels consolidating many discrete sensors and pilot outputs, and brownfield GM7U retrofit projects.
