Description
High-density mixed I/O module: 36 DC inputs and 24 relay outputs for GM7 racks; the heavyweight card when you need many discrete points in one slot.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
The G7M-DR60A is a 60-point mixed digital module (36 inputs + 24 relay outputs) intended for large discrete I/O requirements on GM7 PLCs. It’s the go-to when you want to minimize slot usage but still need isolated relay outputs for numerous pilot devices. OEM catalogs and datasheets show the DR60A in the top end of the DR family and list typical relay ratings and expansion rules.
Pros
- Extremely high channel density reduces footprint and backplane slot consumption.
- Relay outputs retain galvanic isolation for many AC pilot loads.
- Common in larger OEM panels where centralizing many discrete points is required.
Limitations
- Wiring and terminal density is high; requires careful cabinet planning and strain relief.
- Relay life and grouped current derating become more important at this density; plan snubbing and load distribution.
Typical use cases
- Large HVAC plant panels, central alarm/monitoring racks, consolidated discrete I/O for process skids, and large machine control cabinets.
