Description
GM7U-compatible digital I/O expansion module with 18 DC inputs and 12 relay outputs. Offered in AC and /DC (24 VDC logic) variants for brownfield swaps and GM7U racks.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
The G7M-DR30U is the “U” series 30-point mixed I/O card for the GLOFA GM7U platform. It bundles 18 discrete DC inputs and 12 isolated relay outputs in one module to serve medium-density discrete needs without consuming multiple slots. It’s aimed at retrofit and OEM panels where the GM7U backplane and addressing are required; the /DC variant runs on 24 VDC logic for field compatibility. OEM GM7U product sheets list the DR30U in the standard expansion matrix.
Pros
- High discrete density (18 DI + 12 relay DO) reduces slot count and wiring.
- Relay outputs provide galvanic isolation for AC loads and pilot devices.
- Packaged specifically for GM7U compatibility; easier spare swaps on GM7U racks.
Limitations
- Mechanical relays have limited switching life vs transistor outputs; not ideal for very high-cycle outputs.
- Verify CPU ROM/slot mapping on legacy racks before swapping U-series spares.
Typical use cases
- AHU pilot control banks, machine panels with mixed sensing/actuation, pump skid status + pilot control, and brownfield replacements for GM7U systems.
