Description
Compact digital I/O expansion module with 6 DC inputs and 4 relay outputs for G7M PLC racks. Available in AC and /DC (24 VDC logic) variants for straightforward field-sensor and relay-actor wiring.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
The G7M-DR10A (/DC) is a small-footprint expansion card that adds six discrete DC input points and four isolated relay outputs to G7M-series PLCs. It’s aimed at simple machine I/O needs where a mix of discrete sensing and AC/DC switching is required; for example: door switches, float switches, small solenoids and pilot lights. The relay outputs give galvanic isolation for AC loads, while the DC inputs accept standard 12/24 V field sensors. OEM GM7 family literature and distributor datasheets list the DR10A in the standard digital expansion lineup.
Pros
- Small, low-cost add-on for mixed discrete I/O needs.
- Relay outputs provide galvanic isolation so you can switch AC loads directly.
- Compatible with GM7/G7M family wiring and addressing — easy to integrate into existing racks.
Limitations
- Relay contact current is modest (check per-point ratings against inductive loads).
- Limited channel count; use multiple cards or larger DR modules for denser I/O.
Typical use cases
- Operator panel inputs, level/float sensing, status lamps, controlling pilot devices or small contactors in machine panels and AHU control skids.
