The G7L-RUEA implements LS’s Rnet protocol to serve as a master/control interface for LS remote I/O racks and smart field modules. Rnet is LS’s dedicated remote-network protocol for connecting distributed racks, and RUEA provides the master port and management functions. LS legacy manuals and family catalogs list RUEA as the Rnet master option for several G-series families; use it when integrating LS remote rack-based I/O or when maintaining existing Rnet architectures.

Pros

• Native support for LS Rnet remote I/O; simplifies integration with LS remote racks and smart I/O.
• Common in brownfield plants that standardized on LS Rnet.

Limitations

• Rnet is proprietary and largely LS-specific; mixing vendors on the same trunk is not typical.
