Description
Cnet communication interface module for GLOFA/MASTER series PLCs providing a RS-232C channel for modem or 1:1 device links and supporting Frame Editor / downloadable protocol drivers.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
The G7L-CUEB is a Cnet I/F comms module that provides the MASTER/GLOFA family with an RS-232C channel used for modem links, direct programming, and external device comms. The Cnet family supports multiple physical modes (RS-232C, RS-422/485 depending on model), online mode switching, LED status indicators, and the ability to load third-party drivers via the Frame Editor utility. The module supports asynchronous framing and dedicated modem control, and is used for local or remote programming, direct HMI connections, or legacy device integration.
Pros
- Supports modem connections and direct 1:1 links for remote programming and monitoring.
- Flashable driver area: load Modbus/DF1 and other protocol libraries via Frame Editor.
- LED indicators and mode switch simplify diagnostics and online mode changes.
Limitations
- Single serial channel (RS-232C) — not suited for high-node multi-drop RS-485 networks without converters.
- RS-232C physical limitations for distance and noise in industrial environments; wiring discipline is required.
Typical use cases
- Remote modem programming, point-to-point HMI or PC connections, downloading protocol drivers for legacy device integration, and one-to-one communication tasks in MASTER/GLOFA systems.
