Description
Analog Timer (A/T) module with four independent channels; provides on-delay timing based on analogue variable resistance inputs and outputs an 8-bit timer value to the CPU. Designed for GLOFA GM7 and MASTER-K80S systems.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
The G7F-AT2A is an analog timer expansion module: each of its four channels reads a variable resistor (or equivalent analog input) and converts that position into an 8-bit timing value (0–200 scale) which the PLC function block reads to implement configurable on-delay timers. The module is intended where field-settable timer lengths are required without reprogramming; for example manual time dials on machine panels, staged delays in sequencing, or adjustable HVAC purge/flush timers. It maps its channel outputs into predefined data registers so logic can read easily.
Pros
- Field-adjustable timing via simple variable resistors; no ladder reprogramming to change time constants.
- Four independent channels for compact timing solutions.
- Direct register mapping for fast integration with existing function blocks.
Limitations
- Output is 8-bit (0–200), so resolution is coarse compared with A/D modules; not suitable for precision timing below the module’s granularity.
- Requires physical variable resistor hardware on site; not ideal for fully remote/virtual tuning.
Typical use cases
- Field-tunable sequencing delays in packaging lines, operator-settable purge/flush timing in HVAC chillers, and user-adjustable interlocks in machine control panels.
