Description
A 4-channel, 12-bit analog input (A/D) module for GLOFA GM7 and MASTER-K80S PLC families. Handles voltage and current inputs (selectable) with 2 ms/channel conversion speed for timely analog sampling.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
The G7F-AD2A converts field analog signals (0–10 V, 0–20 mA, 4–20 mA) into 12-bit digital values for the GLOFA GM7 and MASTER-K80S PLCs. Channels are jumper-selectable between voltage and current, and the module provides photocoupler isolation between the inputs and PLC power. It is intended for medium-resolution sensing tasks; temperature transmitters, flow/pressure transducers, tank level sensors; where 12-bit accuracy and 2 ms/channel sampling meet standard process and machine control needs.
Pros
- 4 channels per module gives decent channel density without extra wiring.
- Dual input type (voltage or current) selectable at each channel for wiring flexibility.
- 12-bit resolution and ±0.5% full-scale accuracy suitable for most HVAC and process sensors.
Limitations
- No per-channel isolation (channels share commons); use care with grounding and impulse protection.
- Fixed offset/gain; no field calibration of the module itself, calibration must happen upstream or in software.
Typical use cases
- Temperature/transmitter inputs for AHUs, pressure/flow monitoring on chiller loops, tank level transmitters, and general process sensors requiring reliable 12-bit sampling.
