Description
16-point transistor output module (NPN sink type) for 12/24 V DC loads, rated roughly 0.5 A per point. Good for faster switching and when you don’t need AC switching.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
The G6Q-TR2A is a high-density transistor output card (NPN sink) that supplies 16 DC output channels for the GM6 / Master-K racks. With about 0.5 A per point it can drive modest DC coils, small valves, and LED banks directly, and it switches far faster than mechanical relays; making it appropriate for PWM-friendly or frequent switching tasks. The LS product lists show TR2A as the 16-point NPN transistor option in the G6Q family.
Pros
- Fast switching and long-life vs mechanical contacts.
- 16-point density is space efficient.
- Lower acoustic/noise and no contact bounce problems.
Limitations
- DC only (12/24 V).
- NPN sink wiring requires proper common wiring and attention to COM current limits.
Typical use cases
- Driving DC valves, indicator LED arrays, small DC contactors (if within current), or interfacing to SSRs and other DC actuators.
