Description
This is a mixed I/O (hybrid) module for the Master-K / GLOFA system: 8 DC input points plus 8 relay output points in one card.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
The G6H-DR2A combines both input and output functionality in one physical module, making it very useful in space-constrained or cost-sensitive PLC installations. DC inputs (12/24 V) are opto-isolated, and outputs are relay-based, meaning they can handle AC or DC loads. According to LS spec, the relay outputs support up to 2 A per point (DC) or equivalent AC, and the input response times are modest, making it solid for general I/O tasks.
Pros
- Saves I/O slot usage by combining input and output in one module.
- Relay outputs: flexible load types (both AC and DC) and decent current capability.
- Opto-isolated DC inputs: reliable in noisy environments.
- Good for general control I/O where speed isn’t ultra-critical.
Limitations
- Relays are slower and more mechanically limited than transistor outputs.
- Relay life is finite (mechanical switching); less ideal for super-high-frequency switching.
- Input current is modest but you need to size your CPU power accordingly.
Typical use cases
- General-purpose logic I/O in automation where both input signals and actuator outputs are needed.
- Legacy systems where relay outputs are still standard.
- AC load switching from PLC (e.g. small contactors, indicator lamps) while also reading DC inputs.
