Description
An open-collector pulse output module for Master-K / GLOFA PLCs, available for 1, 2, or 3 axes (x = 1-3). Delivers up to 200 kpps (kilo pulses per second) per axis for controlling stepper/servo systems.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
The G6F-PPxO series is designed for precise positioning applications: generating step pulses to drive drives or motors (e.g. steppers or servo). Because it’s open-collector, it’s well suited to certain types of drives that accept that signaling. It supports multi-axis control (1 to 3 axes) with rate interpolation and positioning functions (linear, arc). According to the LS GLOFA GM catalog, it supports interpolation, data backup, and a wide speed range.
Pros
- Supports up to 3 axes in one module and this means efficient I/O usage.
- Relatively high pulse output rate (200 kpps) for many motion-control use cases.
- Open-collector type: compatible with many classic stepper/servo drivers.
- Supports interpolation (linear 2D, arc) via CPU / module.
Limitations
- Open-collector limits output frequency compared to line-drive versions.
- Requires proper pull-ups / external wiring on your drivers.
- Multi-axis modules may mean channel overkill in simpler systems.
Typical use cases
- Driving stepper motors for pick-&-place machines, CNC, or robotics.
- Multi-axis motion control (1-3 axes) on compact PLC racks.
- Applications where low-cost open-collector signalling is sufficient (not high-speed differential).
