Description
Analog output module with 4 channels that outputs voltage in the range of -10 V to +10 V, converted from 16-bit signed binary by the PLC.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
The G6F-DA2V is made for use in LS / Master-K PLC systems when voltage-level control signals are required; for example, controlling analog drives or systems that accept ±10 V inputs. It supports 4 channels, provides good resolution (5 mV per step), and includes optical isolation to avoid ground-loop issues. Conversion time is about 10 ms for all channels, per spec sheets.
Pros
- Wide bipolar voltage range (-10 V to +10 V); flexible for many analog devices.
- Decent resolution: 5 mV per digital step (1/4000).
- Optical isolation to prevent interference.
- Conversion speed is reasonably fast for typical control loops (~10 ms for 4 channels).
Limitations
- Not super-fast for very high-speed applications (10 ms total for 4 channels means ~2.5 ms per channel).
- External load resistance needed: recommended between ~2 kΩ and 1 MΩ to maintain accuracy.
- Uses external power (24 V), which adds to the PLC’s supply load.
Typical use cases
- Driving ±10 V control inputs of analog drives or actuators
- Generating reference voltages for analog measurement equipment
- Applications where voltage signaling is preferred over current (e.g., test rigs, lab automation)
