Description
Analog output module with 4 channels providing a current signal from the PLC (4–20 mA). Converts the PLC’s digital data (16-bit) into analog current output.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
The G6F-DA2I is part of the G6F I/O set and is used when your PLC needs to drive current-based field devices like 4–20 mA actuators or transmitters. It offers good precision (1 µA resolution) and optical isolation, making it reliable for sensitive industrial control systems. The conversion speed is fast enough for many process control loops, and it integrates cleanly into the Master-K / GLOFA legacy architecture.
Pros
- Accurate current output with very fine resolution (1 µA per step).
- Fast conversion: 25 µs per channel per spec sheet.
- Isolated output: reduces risk of interference or ground loops.
- Compatible with many industrial analog devices (valves, actuators, sensors).
Limitations
- Requires proper external load (resistance) planning — max load ~500 Ω per spec.
- Uses dedicated power (24 V DC) which adds to power supply load.
- Only 4 channels, so not suited for very dense analog output needs without multiple modules.
Typical use cases
- Controlling 4–20 mA valves in process plants
- Driving current-based analog actuators or transmitter inputs
- Generating setpoints for analog control loops from PLC logic
