Description
A 4-channel analog input module (A/D converter) for the G6F series, supporting both voltage and current signals. Converts analog sensor data into a 12-bit signed binary value for PLC processing.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
The G6F-AD2A is used to bring real-world analog signals (like temperature, flow, or pressure) into the GLOFA/Master-K PLC. You can configure each channel individually for either voltage (-10 to +10 V, 0;10 V) or current (4–20 mA), giving great flexibility. The 12-bit resolution ensures good measurement precision, and the module is optically isolated to protect against interference.
Pros
- Versatile input: supports both voltage and current per channel.
- Good precision: 12-bit A/D conversion gives a fine granularity.
- Scalable: you can use multiple modules limited by the power supply capacity.
- Isolation: photocoupler isolation protects the module from PLC power noise.
Limitations
- Only 4 channels, so more modules might be needed for larger systems.
- Analog wiring requires careful planning and calibration.
- Conversion speed may not be very high (depending on spec sheet), so not for ultra-fast signals.
Typical use cases
- Reading analog sensors (pressure, temperature, flow) into PLC
- Process control applications where analog feedback is required
- Data logging or PID control loops where input accuracy matters
