Description
A 32-point transistor output module (NPN, sink type) for LS G4/GLOFA PLCs, rated DC 12/24 V and 0.1 A per point. It increases point density where many small DC outputs are required.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
The G4Q-TR4A gives you twice the channel count of the TR2 family (32 outputs) but at a lower per-point current rating (0.1 A), making it ideal for high-density, low-power switching tasks such as indicator lamps, logic inputs to other devices, or small solid-state relays. It is a sink (NPN) type module with photo-coupler isolation; like other high-density modules, watch total COM current and wiring practices since many small channels can add up to a significant aggregate draw.
Pros
- High channel density (32 outputs) saves rack slots.
- Good for lots of small, low-current outputs where slot economy matters.
- Photo-coupler isolation retained for noise protection.
Limitations
- Only 0.1 A per channel, so unsuitable for moderate/heavy loads.
- Troubleshooting a 32-point board can be slower; label and document wiring carefully.
Typical use cases
- Large cabinets with many status lights, small actuators, or control logic outputs.
- OEM equipment where minimizing module slots is a priority.
- Replacing several 16-point modules with a single 32-point module to save space.
