Description
A 16-point transistor output module (PNP, source type) for the LS G4 family, rated DC 12/24 V and 0.5 A per output. Use this when your field devices provide sourcing logic or your wiring standard prefers PNP outputs.
The Polar Energy Assessment:
G4Q-TR2B is the source-type sibling to the TR2A, giving 16 PNP outputs for installations that require sourcing outputs (PNP) rather than sinking. Functionally identical in density and per-point current capability to TR2A, the TR2B variant simply flips the wiring convention; check whether site sensors and actuators expect source or sink outputs before ordering. The module retains photo-coupler isolation and the same DC voltage range used across LS transistor output modules.
Pros
- Matches PNP wiring conventions used in many modern sensors and actuators.
- Solid-state outputs, so no mechanical wear.
- Same density as TR2A; useful for 16-point needs.
Limitations
- Still limited to 0.5 A per point; not for heavy loads.
- Requires correct sourcing wiring to avoid miswires.
Typical use cases
- Panels wired with PNP/sourcing field devices.
- Applications that need faster switching than relays but the same voltage range.
- Spares for G4 racks originally specified with source-type outputs.
